Delta Welcomes a New Recruiting Class for 2018-19

Delta College had a great team in 2017-18, resulting in a trip to the National Tournament. But, with any team at the Junior College level, especially a great one, there's a lot of turnover on the roster every year. Needing to replace their leading scorer and rebounder from last year, Martel Handley and Virgil Walker respectively, Coach McMath and Staff, have put together a good recruiting class coming in looking to compete for playing time right away. Here is the list of incoming players for the new season, along with a quote about each from Coach McMath.

"Jackarus is a great, well-rounded, player that can score but also guard multiple positions on the court."

  • Goliath Mitchell –Grand Blanc High School, 6'1" PG –

"Goliath is a great crafty guard that can score at every level but is a great competitor as well."

  • Justin Fox –Grand Rapids Union High School, 5'10" PG –

"Fox is as sneaky as a Fox, he is a true grinder that is a pass first point guard that looks to everyone involved but knows when to be the alpha dog."

  • Dashon Blaylock – Grand Rapids Union, 6'2" Wing

"Dashon has so much potential to be GREAT!!! He has not even scratched his potential surface."

  • Taylor McCaskill  -Troy Athens High School, 6'1" Combo Guard –

"Taylor is a true definition of a skilled ball handler that is an effective leader that has a positive impact on his team."

  • Anthony Sanders – Saginaw High, 6'4" SG

"Smooth Anthony is a quiet assassin that plays the game at an even pace."

  • Chaz Woods – Heritage High School, 6'0" PG

"Chaz is a Gym Rat that looks to develop every part of his game to have an impact on the court."

  • Jaivon Felton – Flint Community High School, 6'7" F

"Jaivon is a Power Forward that is going to have an immediate impact in the paint."

Delta has a lot to be excited about in 2018-19; but Coach McMath and Staff are not done yet with this year's recruiting class. Make sure to come out to the Pioneer Gym to check out the Pioneers in action this upcoming season.
