Delta College Places Third at GRCC Invitational

ADA, Mich. — April 14, 2025 — The Delta College Pioneers turned in a strong performance at the GRCC Invitational on Monday, finishing third out of 13 teams at Egypt Valley Golf Course. The Pioneers posted a team score of 332, finishing at 44-over par on the par-72, 6,912-yard layout.

Freshman Owen Halstead led the way for Delta, carding an 81 (+9) to tie for 8th place individually. He was followed closely by Kevin Groulx, who shot an 83 (+11) to finish tied for 15th.

A trio of Pioneers—Nathan Cleghorn, Odin Medrick, and Carson Shampo—each recorded rounds of 84 (+12), tying for 17th overall. Jake Look added an 85 (+13) to tie for 21st, while Owen Wendt rounded out Delta's lineup with an 87 (+15), tying for 31st.

Delta's solid depth helped them finish just two strokes behind runner-up GRCC (330) and nine shots behind tournament champion Montcalm CC (323).
