Men's Golf Region 12 Recap
The Delta College men's golf team closed out its postseason earlier this week at the Region 12 Championship, held May 4–5 at Bedford Valley Golf Club. Tee times began at 9:00 a.m. both days, and the Pioneers faced classic early‑May conditions—cool air, swirling winds, and a Bedford Valley layout that demanded precision from the first tee shot to the final putt.
Coming off a long opening day, the team battled through three total rounds and ultimately finished 4th overall, missing 3rd place by just one stroke with a +84 team total. After a difficult first round, the Pioneers responded with two of their strongest rounds of the entire season, showing the resilience and competitive edge that defined their spring.
Individually, Owen Halstead delivered a standout performance, finishing 9th at +16 through 54 holes, while Ben Groulx followed closely behind in 11th, posting +18 through 54 holes. Their consistency helped anchor the team in a deep and talented regional field.
The Region 12 Championship brought together some of the top junior college programs in the area, giving Delta's golfers a chance to measure themselves against elite competition. While final scoring continues to be reviewed, the event served as a fitting culmination to a season marked by steady growth, strong team chemistry, and a commitment to improving every time they stepped onto the course.
