Orlando, Florida – Coach Mullard has lamented about his offense not being consistent thus far in the young season and on Tuesday that was the case once again as the Pioneers opened up their double-header against Owens with an 8-0 victory before being shut down in the nightcap, 10-1. The split leaves DC with a 2-4 record on the year.
Tchorzynski picked up the win in the circle to up her record to 2-1 on the year while limiting the Express to just three hits and striking out four. Defensively, the Pioneers had just one error in the six inning mercy win.
Game two saw the bats fall silent for Delta as the offense only collected four hits total, two of which came off the bat of Reichard. After the score was tied at one apiece in the first, Owens went on to score single runs in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings to win going away.
"We put a young pitcher on the mound who threw pretty well, but we simply didn't back her up defensively or offensively," said Mullard. Delta committed five errors in the contest.
