Delta Ducks Secure Hard-Fought Victory Over Madonna
In a thrilling back-and-forth battle, the Delta Ducks emerged victorious thanks to a well-rounded team effort and key halftime adjustments. Five players scored in double figures, highlighting the depth and balance of the squad:
• Jaleeah: 17 points, 10 rebounds
• Annaka: 15 points, 6 rebounds
• Hailee: 14 points, 7 rebounds
• Kayla: 13 points, 3 steals
• Carah: 12 points, 5 rebounds
This balanced inside-out approach proved critical to the Ducks' success. Despite trailing by four at halftime, the team adjusted defensively, outscoring Madonna 47–38 in the second half.
The sophomore players made a significant impact, stepping up in crucial moments. In the paint, the post trio of Neetz, Jefferson, and McCrum anchored the defense, forcing late stops and converting them into easy baskets on the offensive end. Their presence was felt on both ends of the floor, providing stability when the team needed it most.
Unselfish team play was key to the Ducks' victory. Players consistently rewarded teammates for running the floor and applied relentless pressure on Madonna's defense, forcing turnovers down the stretch. The extra passes and disciplined offensive execution kept Delta in control as the game tightened.
Although free-throw shooting wasn't as sharp as the Ducks hoped, they made clutch shots from the line in the closing moments to seal the win.
This game showcased Delta's resilience, depth, and ability to adapt under pressure—a true testament to their collective EOE(effort over everything) and PNP (progress not perfection) approach
