Delta College Falls on the Road at Jackson College, 87–67
JACKSON, MI
The Delta College Women's Basketball team came up short Wednesday night, falling 87–67 to Jackson College on the road.
Delta stayed competitive early, trailing by just one point after the first quarter (21–20), but Jackson used a strong second and third quarter to create separation and control the pace for the remainder of the game.
Aya Mosley led the Pioneers with a team-high 21 points, adding four rebounds, three steals, and three blocks in an all-around performance. Damaya Hartwick chipped in 12 points and dished out nine assists, helping facilitate the offense throughout the night, while Annaka Neetz added 11 points on efficient shooting.
Despite strong individual performances, Delta struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 2-of-16 from three-point range, and committed 28 turnovers, which Jackson capitalized on to extend its lead.
Delta showed effort on the glass and at the free-throw line, shooting an impressive 85.2% from the stripe, but Jackson's depth and defensive pressure proved to be the difference.
