Lady Pioneers fall to Montcalm Community College 62-80
SIDNEY, MI –
The Delta College Women's Basketball Team dropped a road contest at Montcalm Community College, falling 62–80 in conference play.
Delta worked to stay competitive but struggled offensively, shooting 25.0% from the field and 18.2% from 3-point range. Despite the shooting challenges, the Pioneers battled on the boards and created second-chance opportunities throughout the game.
Aya Mosley led Delta with 15 points and added 3 steals and a block off the bench. Brooke Swartz followed with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists, while Ellianna Miller knocked down 3 shots from beyond the arc and finished with 11 points. Annaka Neetz contributed 7 points and 7 rebounds, and Makayla Watkins pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.
Delta finished with a rebounding edge at 52–49 and forced 22 turnovers, but Montcalm's efficient shooting and trips to the free-throw line proved decisive.
UP NEXT: The Pioneers will look to regroup as they head back on the road to face Alpena Community College on Saturday, Jan. 31, aiming to bounce back and build momentum in conference play.
