Delta College Women’s Basketball Defeats North Central Michigan 64–58
The Delta College Women's Basketball Team earned a hard-fought 64–58 road victory over North Central Michigan College on February 14, improving to 14–11 overall and 7–4 in conference play.
After trailing 19–16 at the end of the first quarter, the Pioneers responded in the second to take a narrow halftime edge. North Central briefly pushed ahead in the third, but Delta closed strong, outscoring the Timberwolves 19–12 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Aya Mosley led the charge with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks, anchoring the defense throughout the contest. Makayla Watkins added 16 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists in a strong all-around performance. Brooke Swartz contributed 6 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists, while Ellianna Miller chipped in 9 points.
Delta's defensive intensity proved decisive, forcing 38 turnovers and recording 22 steals while holding North Central to 29.5% shooting from the field. The Pioneers also controlled the glass with a 41–35 rebounding advantage and made key plays down the stretch to seal the victory.
