Delta College Women’s Soccer Showcases Its Skills at the 2025 Juco Kickoff Classic in Indianapolis
The Delta College Women's Soccer team traveled to Indianapolis this past weekend to compete in the 2025 JUCO Kickoff Showcase and left with a statement. Facing two nationally ranked NJCAA Division II programs, Delta came away unbeaten, showcasing both defensive grit and attacking firepower.
Game 1: Delta 0, #3 Heartland 0
The Women's Soccer Team kicked off the weekend against No. 3-ranked Heartland Community College, earning a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Despite Heartland generating 14 total shots and 13 on target, Delta's defense held strong throughout the 90 minutes.
Goalkeeper Mia Warner was a standout performer, making an incredible 13 saves to keep Heartland off the scoreboard. Delta managed 10 shots of their own, with Alahna Beckett recording 5 and Isabella Workman with 3. Rylee Jatczak and Molly Siler also contributed with a shot on goal, while the defense remained disciplined against constant pressure.
Game 2: Delta 4, #14 St. Louis 0
On Sunday, Delta followed up its strong defensive display with a clinical 4-0 win over No. 14-ranked St. Louis Community College. The match started hot, as Anna Weston scored just 28 seconds in off a pass from Alahna Beckett, setting the tone for the rest of the match. In the second half,
Delta took full control: Sarah Sharpe netted a goal late in the 2nd half (unassisted), Weston scored again at the 84:36 mark, off a feed from Clara Kelly, and Beckett added a goal of her own less than a minute later, assisted by Brooke Swartz.
Delta finished with 13 shots, 9 on goal. Beckett led all players with 5 shots and added both a goal and an assist. Weston had 3 shots, while Mia Warner remained perfect in goal, making 5 saves to complete her second consecutive shutout.

In total, Delta scored 4 goals and conceded 0, while their opponents outshot them by a combined margin of 36 to 23 over the two games. The most impressive was Mia Warner, who totaled 13 saves across both matchups without allowing a single goal.
With a 1-0-1 weekend against top-ranked teams, Delta showcased its power as true contenders, combining resilience, organization, and attacking prowess. The team is primed to make a real impact this NJCAA season.
