The Delta College Women's Soccer Team wins its First Conference Matchup over the Jayhawks.
The Delta College Women's Soccer team delivered a commanding 4-0 shutout conference win over Muskegon Community College on Saturday afternoon, showcasing both offensive firepower and defensive discipline.
The Pioneers came out strong and never looked back, racking up 18 shots and holding their opponents to just two in a performance that highlighted their depth and cohesion on both sides of the pitch.
Freshman Sydney Fulcher opened the scoring in the 11th minute, assisted by Ciera Kelly, setting the tone early for Delta. The lead was doubled just eight minutes later when Brooke Swartz found the back of the net on a penalty kick.
Delta added two more goals in the first half, with Swartz getting a goal of her own unassisted in the 44th minute. Twenty-nine seconds later, Anna Weston scored a goal in the 44th minute assisted by Alahna Beckett
The defensive players came in with a winning mentality and proved it, ensuring that Muskegon had few opportunities, limiting them to just one shot on goal all game.
