The Delta College Women's Soccer team continued its strong start to the season with a strong 12–0 victory over Lake Michigan College on Saturday, September 13th. With this result, the Pioneers improved to 3–0 in conference play and 4–0–1 overall.
The scoring opened just 1 minute and 24 seconds into the match, with Alahna Beckett finishing off an assist from Sydney Lambert, the first of Beckett's two goals on the day. Delta's offensive prowess was on full display, as eight different players contributed goals, and seven different players recorded assists.
In the first half, the Pioneers scored five goals, including finishes from:
- Bella Workman (unassisted)
- Ciara Kelly (assisted by Bella Workman)
- Alexa Verhelst (assisted by Anna Weston)
- Bella Workman (assisted by Morgan Ludwig)
The momentum carried into the second half, with Delta scoring seven additional goals within the first 25 minutes. Set pieces proved effective, with goals from Abby Hendy and Avery Dean off corner kicks delivered by Molly Siler and Ella Wallaker. Additional goals came from Bella Workman, Alahna Beckett, Anna Weston, and two from Maddie Gracias. Assists were credited to Alahna Beckett, Sydney Lambert, Avery Dean, and Marcela Facundo.
The team posted 15 total shots, while the defense limited Lake Michigan to just two shots, one in each half. Goalkeepers Mia Warner and Niobe Marchalant combined for the clean sheet.
