The Delta College Women's Soccer team continued its historic run of success on Saturday, securing its eighth consecutive Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Championship with a 2–1 victory over Schoolcraft College.
The highly anticipated matchup featured the conference's two remaining unbeaten teams, with Delta entering at 8–0 and Schoolcraft at 7–0. The game lived up to expectations, delivering a thrilling display of competition and determination from both sides.
Delta's Alahna Beckett opened the scoring in the 35th minute, putting the Pioneers on the board first. Schoolcraft's Gromadzki responded later in the half to even the match at 1–1 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Beckett struck again — this time assisted by Bella Workman — to give the Pioneers the lead once more. The Delta defense, anchored by goalkeeper Mia Warner, held strong down the stretch. Warner recorded four saves on five shots faced to secure the win.
With the victory, Delta completed a perfect 9–0 record in MCCAA play and improved to 11–0–1 overall, outscoring opponents by an impressive 72–2 margin this season.
The Pioneers will now look to carry their momentum into the NJCAA Division III Region 12 Championship, where they'll host Owens Community College as they continue their pursuit of a perfect season and another regional title.
