Delta Falls to North Central Michigan College 3-2
The Delta College volleyball team put up a fierce fight on the road against North Central Michigan, pushing the Timberwolves to five sets in a back-and-forth battle. Despite strong performances from multiple players, Delta came up just short in a 3–2 loss (16–25, 15-25, 25-17, 25-19, 9–15).
Makenzie Nearman led the Pioneers' attack with ten kills, eight digs, and two aces, earning a team-high 15 points on the night. Charlotte Fournier was a force on both sides of the ball, tallying 9 kills and a team-leading 12 digs. Alexis Champagne continued to impress with six kills, five digs, and three service aces for 10 points.
Setter Cassie Jenema directed the offense with sixteen assists and added four digs, while Melanie Muringer contributed four kills and solid defense at the net.
Defensively, the Pioneers showed grit with 63 total digs, highlighted by strong back-row efforts from Fournier and Nearman.
While Delta couldn't close out the final set, their energy and teamwork were on full display throughout the match. The Pioneers will look to bounce back in their next conference matchup as they continue to build momentum late in the season.
