Delta College Baseball Scores Region 12 Runners-Up

May 6 – Delta College Splits Opening Day of Region XII Championship

The Delta College baseball team opened postseason play at the Region XII Division III Baseball Championship in Sports Force Parks with a hard-fought split against Owens Community College and Terra State Community College.

In Game 2, the Pioneers earned a 10-6 victory over Owens Community College behind a strong offensive effort. B. Mackenzie paced the attack with three hits, while A. Huyck crossed the plate twice. J. Kowalak delivered in key moments, driving in three runs to help Delta secure the postseason win.

Later in the day, Delta faced Terra State in Game 4 and fell 10-1 in a seven-inning contest. A. Huyck again led the offense with three hits, while M. Radosa scored the team's lone run. B. Mackenzie added an RBI, but Terra State's offense proved too much as Delta dropped into the consolation side of the bracket.

May 7 – Pioneers Eliminate Owens Before Falling in Championship Game

Delta College stayed alive in the Region XII Division III Baseball Championship with a 6-2 victory over Owens Community College in Game 5 on Thursday at Sports Force Parks.

C. McIlhargie led the Pioneers with two hits, while A. Huyck scored twice to spark the offense. J. Kowalak added an RBI as Delta used timely hitting and solid pitching to advance to the championship round.

In the championship game later that day, Delta once again matched up with Terra State Community College but came up short in a 14-2 loss. C. McIlhargie collected two hits in the finale, while T. Debo scored a run and D. Doan drove in one. Terra State's bats stayed hot throughout the game as the Titans claimed the Region XII Division III championship.

The Delta College baseball team wrapped up an impressive postseason run this week, finishing as runner-up at the NJCAA Region XII Division III Baseball Championship at Sports Force Parks. The Pioneers battled through a competitive tournament field and earned key postseason victories over Owens Community College before ultimately falling to Terra State Community College in the championship game.

The Pioneers were also recognized for their strong individual performances throughout the tournament, as Zach Laures and Johnny McNicol were both named to the NJCAA Region XII Division III All-Tournament Team.

Delta's postseason appearance capped off a strong campaign and showcased the resilience and competitiveness of the Pioneer program throughout regional play.
